We have had to rethink our itinerary for Cape Breton Island and looking for your thoughts.
We will be on a month long trek and our first stop in NS will be 2 nights in Advocate Harbour . We will then drive to Cape Breton and have 3 days before taking the ferry to Newfoundland. We originally planned a counterclockwise trip one night each in 3 locations...Baddeck, Pleasant Bay and Belle Cote and onto North Sydney.
Now we are thinking we would like to end our trek closer to North Sydney, so we are not rushed to catch a 12 Noon ferry, and so now we are thinking of doing clockwise, 2 nights in Cheticamp continuing to make the loop, and then one night in Baddeck or St Ann's before heading to North Sydney.
We plan to hike the scenic trails including Skyline, Middle head, White's point. We are also photography nuts.
Would Cheticamp be closer to the western trailheads than Pleasant Bay? I wonder too, if we did 2 nights in Belle Cote rather than Cheticamp, would it make that much difference?
Any thoughts would be appreciatedEdited: 18 February 2013, 21:56
