Cape Breton - Sept. 28th - Oct.6th 2013

Travelling in the Maritimes this fall and wonder if at this time of year we need to book accommodations in Cape Breton? Weather looks as if it could be rainy, we would rather not have a strict schedule to stick to.

You will be coming between the main tourist season and the very popular Celtic Colours festival, so you should be OK as long as you are not too fussy. If you have an idea of places you would like to stay that would help. You can always phone 1 800 565 0000 if you need help finding a place.

The weather at that time of year can be wonderful, but it can rain. You will be a bit early for the fall colours but some trees may have started to turn by the time you are leaving. There should still be some whales around if you are interested in whale watching.

If your dates are your total time and you are planning to visit Maritimes then you do not have much wiggle room. If this is the case I would check out places to stay in main areas in CB ie Cheticamp, Baddeck, Ingonish etc and make some temporary reservations.

If you only have 10 days for the whole trip how long were you planning for Cape Breton you should allow at least 2 days, in which case one night in Cheticamp area and one in Baddeck would work well.
