Cooking classes

We will be travelling to Nova Scotia this spring (June 2014) and we love to find cooking classes that teach us about the local tastes. Bread,seafood,sweets...........anything with a traditional flare. Can anyone know of any place who offer such classes? Thanks

There are a few places I can send you to try out....

Our local grocery stores have cooking classes.... just pick Nova Scotia from the drop down menu, and whichever community you will be staying in...

and, I attended a class at Finbar's Pub in Bedford, N.S., here is the link to the pub...

Please check www.thekiltedchef.ca & follow through to Cooking on the Farm with the Kilted Chef. Alain Bosse is a Nova Scotian Ambassador when it comes to cooking with local produce. His cooking tours are very popular & you would be lucky to get in to this experience!

This is the correct link: http://www.kiltedchef.ca/

I just heard that he is doing this yesterday from someone who went to a tourism meeting. Alain Bosse is well known in my area (north shore).

I was at the same tourism meeting! Alain conducted a "class" on "everything you ever wanted to know about the Mussels industry". Yummy recipe ideas too! He will be at the Saltscapes Expo in Halifax on April 25th-27th.
