Loding Availability

We are planning a road trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island the first week in June. Would it be necessary to make hotel reservations in advance, or is it early enough in the season to "chance it"?

You can chance it, but you might not stay where you want to stay, and you might end up paying a lot more than you want to.

Most places will let you cancel with 24 hours notice... or some even the same day before a certain hour.

Depending on what part of the province you plan on visiting will play a part in whether you need advance reservations or not, I think. Kids are still in school so families will not be travelling as much.

Have you ordered your copy of Doer's and Dreamers Guide from www.novascotia.com yet? It is filled with great information about everything Nova Scotia has to offer. PEI has a similar guide available from www.tourismpei.com.

Hi Francis1962, It’s Victoria from Tourism Nova Scotia. I see you are looking for advice on if and when to book reservations.

It’s always best to book reservation ahead of time if you have a set timetable and/or specific requests as indicated by cgreno. If you are flexible then it is possible that you may be able to chance it and book reservations day before or day of. Whatever your choice, you can make reservations and/or check availability on www.novascotia.com in the accommodation section but reservations must be made 24 hours prior to arrival date. For same day reservations you can just give us a call at our toll free number. Anyone of our agents will be happy to help you out.

Hope this helps.
