Whale Watching

Looking for a whale watching tour, within 2 hours of a drive from Halifax for first week of july, any help would be appreciated. And at that time of year will we see anything? Anything in the Minas Basin or Bay of Fundy area.

Thank you

There is no place for good whale watching within a two hour drive of Halifax, unfortunately. The two main areas for whales are in the Bay of Fundy and off the west coast of Cape Breton.

It is around a four hour drive to the Bay of Fundy area: http://goo.gl/maps/jGAjA

Thanks for your help, is there nothing closer that would involve some marine life and a boat tour?

Lunenburg area would probably be the best place for you to go. It's on the Atlantic Coast aprox an hour's drive from Halifax. It is an UNESCO site & has a great Fisheries Museum.

There are boat tours from there including a whale watching one.

I'm not sure of the type of whales or number of them, but you should see some marine life.
