Small Beach Wedding

My Fiance and I are on a TIGHT budget, and while I would love a destination wedding, my family has strongly poo-poo'ed the idea, and I've come up with a compromise of getting married in Ontario on a beach.

Going past Toronto you lose some of the more "tropical" feel with all the big rocks and tall evergreen trees, so I was wondering where I can look for a small, private ceremony, about ~20 people, and if they had a reception space for ~75 would be an added bonus (but not necessary).

I've sent out messages to Sherton Shores (who have yet to get back to me), but I'm struggling on where else to look that isn't cottage country, and within budget.

Any ideas???

Prince Edward County.

Check out Isiah Tubbs Resort - it might be just what you're looking for.

Elmhirst does small weddings. Not sure if they use their beach or not (it's quite small).

Also the Victoria Inn

Have you thought about where all these people are going to stay? Will most of your guests be from the London area? If so will they want to drive to Prince Edward county? You haven't said what time of the year you will be getting married. Weather may be a factor.

What about this, www.theoldcourthouse.ca Looks lovely and is where you live if London is your home town. I wouldn't add the stress of an out of town wedding if I were you and on a tight budget.

Perhaps you should consider something up on Lake Huron shores. Goderich, Grand Bend, Kincardine, etc.

Thanks so far for the suggestions!

We are getting married in July of next year.

Most people will be coming from Toronto. I have told my family they may have to drive a bit for my venue and are ok with the idea.

I checked out isaiah tubbs, and it just wasn't right...I want a nice beach with my toes in the sand to get married on.

I think at this point, we really want to find a nice, quiet beach first, and find a separate reception space later.

Any ideas?
