Visiting London - Just saying hello

Hi all,

No help required really but just thought I'd say hello, as later this month I'll be in London visiting a friend.

Looking forward to seeing how London, Ontario compares to my hometown; London, England.

I understand we both have a River Thames running through!

Welcome to little London. I truly enjoy your UK version. Yes, we have the Thames, and the Avon is not far either.

Mind crossing the street. If it is anything like I experienced in the UK, you really need to look the "wrong way" first.

Hi Piecesof8~

Being established on the banks of the Thames is just about the only comparison a Canadian would want to make between the two! :)

Though our little city is known as the Forest City for it's parkland and greenery, it can't hold a candle to Hyde Park, Kensington, Green or Regent's Park. Probably the closest our London comes to the original version is the campus of the University of Western Ontario, which is quite lovely.

Our dd is working in London (UK) and having gone to Western, I know she would say there is absolutely no comparison. We've visited your city several times since 1984 and love it more each time.....

Hope you enjoy your visit in ours. :)
