Cost to see Niagara Falls?

Hello,

We are going on a 10 Canadian vacation this summer, our first stop is Niagra Falls. We arrive in Niagra Falls in the afternoon. What is the cost to see the falls? Is there a parking fee? We plan on going on the Maid of the Mist tour the following day when we leave.

Thanks!

There is no cost to see the Falls. Parking anywhere near them, however, will have a fee.

Maid of the Mist is on the U.S. side only. Hornblower Cruise on the Canadian side.

Niagara Falls is free for the viewing, parking can be expensive although sometimes the casinos have cheap parking. We used to have players advantage cards and if you played you parked for free so usually we only gambled enough to get free parking and sometimes we even won back that.

Hi rnnocs;

Just a reminder…citizens of the United States require one of the following to cross the border, by land.

• U.S. Passport

• U.S. Passport Card

• Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL)

• Trusted Traveler Program Card

Kids 15 and under just need their birth certificates.

Best Regards

If you are only visiting for the day, I would suggest that you parking in the US side Niagara Falls parking lot that is right by the Rainbow Bridge and then walk across the bridge to Canada. Parking will be much cheaper and the view of the falls from the bridge is great. From there, you can walk down to the Canadian Falls area and even get the WeGo bus (for a fee) or just walk across the falls/park area. Unless you have difficulty walking longer distances, this walk is very doable.

There is lots of daily parking for $5 to $10. For ovenight parking, The cost at the Fallsview Casino ranges fro $5 to $30. You only pay when you exit, not on how long you park, and at the rate when leaving.

We should not forget to remind them what they should not bring

No guns, no pot and it is always best to check what you can and cant bring into a country. I love watching Border Security.

I don't particularly see why someone asking a very specific question about viewing Niagara Falls needs to be schooled in the wide-ranging requirements and prohibitions of international travel; one presumes they've looked into that.

mnocs, the falls are right beside the main public promenade through town, so just looking at them is not a controlled or ticketed experience. There are plenty of ticketed attractions you can spring for if you want to view them from other angles, like the Hornblower cruise, the Skylon Tower or the Journey Behind the Falls. Others have touched on the parking situation... basically the farther you're willing to walk from your car to the falls the less you'll pay for parking.

Because of recurring comments by the same individuals, perhaps post #7 was made tongue in cheek?
