Is higher always better?

Hi Folks

I'm booking a 2 night package for next June and different packages specify different ranges of floors. Obviously we are interested in the best possible view.

We have narrowed down to 4 hotels - Marriott, Sheraton, Embassy Suites & Hilton.

From reading a range of past comments it seems that these all have wonderful views - so does the floor number really matter? Are there obstructions that you need to be higher than?

Thanks for your help!

G'day! I've noticed a few posts from you on the Canadian forums. I'm also an Aussie - I live in the Southern Highlands. I'm heading over to the States/Canada next June/July as well. Have you been before? I've not been, and am not 100% sure what to expect. It sounds like you're travelling with someone, and I'm flying solo, but other than that, we're both Aussies going to Canada at the same time of the year. If I get any great tips, I'll pass them on if you like. How long are you going for? What sort of itinerary? Are you going to be over there for 4th of July? I posted a question on the New York forum, asking where was a good place to celebrate 4th of July (obviously State-side), but unfortunately no one replied. If you happen to know or find out where the ideal places to be are, I'd really appreciate it if you gave me a heads-up. Good luck with your search for the perfect view at Niagra Falls. Sounds fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing them myself. Well, hope all goes well with the planning of your trip.

You can definately see farther from higher up.....

I've stayed at the Hilton, there you need to be on a higher floor, the casino is right in front of it...

Embassy suites, make sure you get a FULL Fallsview room, as the partial ones, you can only see the horseshoe falls and sometime's only the Marriott..

I haven't stayed at the other 2,

Hi Umed - thanks for your enthusiasm - I have replied to you directly by message.

Traceylynne - thanks I'll be careful to ask for full Fallsview.

Realistically in the middle of summer we will only be in the room at night and I hear that the American falls look best at night - although it would be great to wake up to a view of both.
