Booked!!

I booked at Comfort Inn Fallsview for only $370 for 2 nights, not bad with free breakfast and a swimming pool. Parking is $9 a day according to the website. I requested a balcony room so does that mean (if I get what I requested) that we will be able to see the falls????

What are the musts to do on this side???

Thanks everyone!!!

the falls are about 150 yards from the comfort inn and there are two giant hotels in your way....you might be able to see straight down the street to the falls but you are certainly getting a great location to all the attractions. casino is across the street and the incline railway is also right there to take you down to the falls without the hassles of driving.

I'm a little confused here. I thought I could just walk around not have to worry about driving any where. On the website it states that we can walk to the attractions.

Here is what it states on the website:

Description: One block from Niagara Falls, this hotel is only a half-block from the new Fallsview Casino and only four blocks from Clifton Hill attractions... The area around the Falls is Queen Victoria Park. It is a strip of land a couple of miles long and a few hundred yards wide, bordered by the Niagara Gorge on one side and an escarpment on the other, On top of this hill are the hotels, restaurants, casino, etc. The streets that come down the hill are all know as 'Hills', Clifton Hill, Murray Hill, Bender Hill. Another way down is the Incline Railway, in the Fallsview district, that takes you up/down to a spot very near the Horseshoe Falls and Table Rock Centre. It's $2 each way or is included in a People Mover pass.

OKay, thanks for the info. Any other info would be appreciated.

One of my boys mentioned going to Ripleys Believe it or not. It says its open until 1:30am??? Does anything else stay open that late? Also is it intersting or cheesey, lol. We have seen this at other places we have visited but never went in one.

Most things in the Clifton Hill area stay open that late during the summer. All us parents that have to go pick up their sons/daughters who were working at the attractions at 2am can attest to that.

Exchange rates vary constantly, and are not regulated in any way. Hopefully, most places are treating the U.S. and Canadian dollars as equal, but you may expect to pay a few cents on your dollar at some places.

You get the "best" exchange rates at the ATM machines--even with the $1-$2 fee. I got $800 out in one transaction last time--it was 92 cents Canada to each US dollar at the time--I thought it was bad---now its 98-99 cents!

Its sad to think how it was a few years ago when it was 75-80 cents.

As for walking--what the maps don't show is the steep hills. You might be close by but theres a cliff stopping you from walking. In the evening or even early morning 6-7am if you are all up, its a nice time to drive around by the Falls and see how it is. Once 8-9am comes, theres people and traffic everywhere. Theres really few if any hotels right at the Falls. But your hotel is at a great place. You can walk there...much closer than the Sheraton on Fallsview--theres another Sheraton thou, called at the Falls.

I have no kids and can handle some of the hills. I know a free 2 hour parking lot were I can run down a dirt hill and be right by the horseshoe falls. But I am a single guy whos been there 3 times in 18 months..Its not for familys but I have seen women walk up that hill too--holding their hubby's hand...

Did you know parking right by the Falls is $10-$12 dollars but after like 7pm the booths are empty..you can park for free--I am sure hours change-I have gone early June and Sept..when school is open..but theres still kids from overseas..

Sorry for the many posts but I am recalling stuff.

In the summer, the sun comes up over the Falls..I seen it from my room at the Marriott..a awesome site. The mist creates a rainbow at certain times... late afternoon is great. You can see a rainbow in the sunshine, even get pictures of it.

Sounds like you never gone...you can hear the roar of the Falls before you can even see them.

I was laughing at the Marriott elevators that called out each floor. I told this lady friend I was with, why would blind people come to "see" the Falls, ha ha. She goes, well they can hear them and feel the mist of the Falls. She was right, duh.
