We drove from Branford CT, staying overnight in Verona NY, to break-up the trip.
Then headed directly to Buffalo, NY to try the wings at the Anchor Bar - not a disappointment at all!
Then we drove to Tonawanda to check out the Premier Gourmet store.
Then back into the car to Niagara Falls, NY to stop at the State Park, and get our first glimpses of the falls.
Finally crossed the Rainbow Bridge (about 5 mins. wait), and checked into the Marriot Fallsview. I put a separate review on their site - it was wonderful. We had a room on the 22nd floor, with views to die for.
We were blessed with incredible spring weather, so spent much of time walking along the Horseshoe Falls. Our hotel was a very short distance to the casino, and we ate at the Food Court twice. I also walked over in the morning to get my tea - I didn't want to pay almost $3 for a cup at the hotel Starbucks, when the Tim Horton's and another vendor (forget the name) sold tea for a little more than $1.
The casino I thought was beautiful. It was fun to compare the slots there to our slots back home.
We drove along the Parkway to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Beautiful town. Beautiful parkway. Our second-best pictures were taken on Lake Ontario.
I love the shops downtown.
We did stop at the Butterfly conservatory, and got some great photos.
We were intending on eating at the Flying Saucer one day, but were talked out of it by our hotel tour desk clerk, for reasons I won't go into.
We did try the Swiss Chalet, and I was a little disappointed.
I did take my daughters to Clifton Hill - had no trouble finding a parking space on the street. (mid-afternoon on a Friday). They only asked to go into the criminal wax museum, and we all enjoyed it.
Everyone we met in Canada was very friendly, and made our vacation that much more enjoyable.
Looking forward to coming back to Niagara Falls, CA.
