We will be in NF first week of June & was considering going to Toronto for a day trip. What would be our transportation options?

Are there tour companies that would pick up at the hotel in NF then go to Toronto?

Hi Betty;

Toronto is Canada’s largest city, 4th largest in Canada & the US after New York, Los Angeles & Chicago. You could spend an entire week in Toronto and still have plenty to see and do !

I doubt that you will find a tour from Niagara Falls to Toronto. More people take side trips from Toronto to Niagara Falls than vice versa.

Niagara Falls is approx. 80 miles / 130 km southwest of Toronto. The average drive is about 1½ hours, without any traffic delays.

You have three public transportation options available to you;

1. take a VIA Rail train, but limited number of trains between the two cities. www.viarail.ca

2. take a bus, frequent service. www.greyhound.ca or www.coachcanada.com

3. take a combination of GO Transit train & bus.

Once in Toronto, you can use the services of a tour, or go it alone.

Hi Betty,

You might find an organized tour *from* Niagara Falls *to* Toronto easier if you only have a day, and want to maximize your time in the city.

This is a company that does tours in the area.....and they also work out of Buffalo airport (which is an inquiry on another one of your posts). They have a great reputation, and friends of ours from Scotland used them on their last visit here and were very pleased.

niagaraairbus.net/niagara-airbus-tours/

The tour covers this:

<< Tour T – Tour Toronto. Most who visit Niagara Falls, also take some time to visit Canada’s largest city. The financial centre of Canada and one of the world’s most successful multi-cultural cities. Established by the native indians, the French and the British, Toronto is a mecca for excitement, history, shopping and the home of the CN Tower.

A tour of Toronto includes the CN Tower, Chinatown (one of the largest in the world), the downtown financial district, the exciting underground, Castle *(Casa) Loma, the world famous Distillery district, the popular waterfront, and so much more.>>

Because some of the sights are spread out and you're not driving, I think I'd do the tour from Niagara Falls (with pick up at your hotel) or take the train and then take a tour of some kind....

A few are listed here:

Hope that helps....
