Here's my plan for weekend in June, what should I...

Ok here goes. I am taking my wife up for a surprise weekend. It will be our 6th anniversary. She has no idea where we are going.

Arrive in Buffalo about noon Friday, pick up rental car and get to niagara falls about 1 or so. Go to Imax to get backdrop of Niagara falls history, go check into hotel and then back out to do Maid of the Mist and Journey Behind the Falls. Back to hotel for the night/watch fireworks.

Up early Saturday to Niagara on the Lake and do the Whirlpool Jet boats at 10 AM and then over to the Butterfly Conservatory. Then head up to Toronto to catch the Blue Jays play an afternoon game, then head back to Niagara. I figure to be back in Niagara by 8 or so. Other than seeing the falls illuminated what else is there to do that late?

I'd be willing to give up the ball game and skip Toronto, but if I do I'd really like to do something really fun. I figure by hitting the Maid, Behind the Falls, and the Whirlpool Jets I will have hit the must do things. I figure we will squeeze in the new ferris wheel on clifton hill. Would there be anything else I must do in Toronto if I do go to the ball game?

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

All that sounds great but your wife may want to change clothes and freshen up after getting soaked on the Whirlpool Jet Boats....before going to Toronto for the game. I might factor that in on your itinerary. :)

As well, traffic and parking on game days can be busy so make sure you leave enough time.

Now your wife is a really big baseball fan, right? If so then that all sounds great. If not...perhaps she would rather go in to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the afternoon/evening. Lots of nice shops, outstanding places to eat, pretty town, pretty drive to get there if you go along the Niagara Parkway, maybe visit a winery. Maybe extra kudos to you for taking her there?

Have a great time.

I think you might be pushing it on the timing, what time is the game? Don't forget it's at least 1hour to T.O., and that doesn't include finding your way to parking and the Dome.

When do you plan to eat on Saturday? The Whirlpool Jet boats would take at least an hour, and then you will need to change into dry clothes. You would want to spend at least an hour at the Butterfly conservatory. Then you would have 1 hour to 90 minutes to drive to Toronto. That might make it a bit tough to make it to an afternoon game if it starts at 1. After returning to Niagara after all that traveling I would think you might be quite happy to pick a great (fallsview?) restaurant for a leisurely dinner. The casino is always an option if you really want to do something after that.

I would not try to do very much in Toronto if you are going back to Niagara that night. There is lots to see and do there - perhaps make this another trip.
