Niagra falls HELP

We are going to Niagra Falls for a long weekend in September but not sure if there is enough to do around to keep us interested. We are fairly active and want to see as much as we can. Should we stay the entire time there or is there any other places that are convenient to get to by train or car..New York...etc. thanks for all your help

Hi StacylynN5;

How are you arriving in the area ? (car, bus, train, plane)

Does your visit include the Canadian side of the Falls ?

FYI...NYC is approx. 420 miles / 670 km from Niagara Falls.

Best Regards

It depends on your interests -- whether you just want to see the falls or see all the falls-related attractions, spend time in the casinos, and visit other random tourist places.

Beyond that, you're quite close to Niagara-on-the-Lake (a quaint, historic town) and the Niagara wine region; you're also about a 90-minute drive from Toronto, Canada's largest city.

For a weekend, there is enough to do in Niagara Falls (doing both sides).....you can reach Toronto pretty easily if you want a big city feeling....

Depends on what your interests are. I know people who love Toronto and feel seeing the falls is a 1 hour event - if that.

I prefer Niagara over Toronto. Its more relaxing and quiet. Some would say boring. Many people like to stay in Toronto and just do a day trip to see the falls.

NYC is a 7 to 9 hour drive one way from Niagara. I would forget about it and go to Toronto if NYC sounds like fun to you. Both cities - Niagara and Toronto are around a 4 1/2 hour drive from SE Michigan..from Warren maybe 4 hours with no stops, expect customs.

Cross over the Blue Water Bridge from I- 94, forget crossing in Detroit, IMO

StacylynN5,

There is plenty to keep you busy for a few days. Have a look at these sites for some ideas:

http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/

http://www.niagaraparks.com/

http://www.cliftonhill.com/

http://topofcliftonhill.com/

http://www.fallsviewboulevard.com/

And a reminder that you need passports (or equivalent) to cross the border.

stillsmoking,

The OP is from North Carolina. They'll be coming up I77/I79, no where near Detroit.
