Hotel Choices

Been gathering much info here over the past few days. We are going to be in Niagara in Aug. for 2 nights with young children. Looking at the Doubletree and the Radisson. Was looking at the Best Western Cairn, but sold out. Any opinions about the 2 mentioned? Any suggestions that include breakfast--not too expensive. Thanks

Try the New Grey Wolf Lodge ..... I honeslty believe the Doubletree is ment for adults ... The Radison is in a better location about 3 minutes to the falls.

Hey there professionalstudent, O.K. I stayed at the Radisson 3 years ago in August, and it was GREAT, it's in a great location within everything, there are restaurants such as the Outback, TGIF'S etc. Right across the street from it, about a 1 minute walk, the Casino is about 5 minute walk, and the falls are about a 5 minutes away, and Clifton Hill is about 10-15 minute walk, the Minolta tower is about a 1 minute walk, it's right across the street from the Radisson aswell, (when I was there the Radisson gave us free tickets to the Minolta Tower, and so we went, and got a great view It's great!

The Hotel is in a great location and you can get a terrific view of the falls if you get a room with a falls view, the hotel offers valet parking so that is good. The rooms are nice and big, with ceiling to floor window, nice mini fridges, the beds are comfy and big, the bathrooms are nice and clean.

The service is very polite. The hotel has an arcade, when my kids wanted to play, I only had money in bill form, so I gave them 5 dollars Canadian and they went to the front desk and asked for coins, they then gave him 5 dollars in American Quarters! That is how nice they are.

And One last thing that your two young children will enjoy is the pool, when I went my kids were 12-10, and they couldn't really swim in the day because the pool was CROWDED with young children, so we had to wait until 1 hour to 30 minutes before the pool closed to go swimming as all the kids were sleeping at that time, so your kids will enjoy playing with the other kids in the pool.

Overall this hotel is great, and I STRONGLY suggest you go to this hotel!

Thanks for the info. I looked at the Great Wolf Lodge, but too much for our budget. It looks like sooo much fun, and I would love to splurge as it is our 6 year olds birthday, but can't figure out a way to make it work.

Right now, we are leaning toward the Radisson, unless some info comes to light that makes it not such a good choice.

I don't think you could go wrong with either the Raddison or the Hilton. The Hilton is our personal favorite. Both would serve you well. I love the looks of Great Wolf Lodge, but, it just amazes me that anyone with kids can afford the place, LOL.

We just got back from Niagara Falls. We stayed at the Days Inn and Suites By The Falls. It is on the corner of Ellen and Center street in the Clifton Hill area. It is a newer hotel and the rate was great!! $145 for two nights. The room we had was clean and very nice. It is about a 10 min. walk to the falls. We parked the car at the hotel and walked everywhere. Parking lots charge anywhere between $5 (during the week) to $20 for the day. There is a free casino shuttle that runs from one casino to the other. It is a great way to get from one end to the other.

There the Sheraton on The Falls/ or the Skyline Inn both have the big Fallsview Waterpark (Bigger thenb Great Wolf Lodge) YOu could get a room for cheap at the Skyline Inn. Being at the Seraton on the Falls you are near everything. The Days Inn adn SUites is meant for the business travler.
