b & b

My husband and I are going to be in Niagara-on-the-Lake at the end of October and I want to stay at a B & B. What I am looking for is one that is in the price range of $90-150 a night, walking distance to the main street, and a nice breakfast included. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is a must see shop or attraction that would be nice to know also. Where online could I obtain a good map of the area. Thanks

We are also going to see the Falls in October. We've made reservations at King George 111 Inn, in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

See their website http://www.niagarakinggeorgeinn.com

We haven't stayed there before -- it's our first family trip to the Falls -- but it got a nice write up in the NY Times Travel section (8/22/04) as an affordable B&B. The writer called it a great alternative to the "land of motel-chain dreariness or wrong-side-of-the-tracek seediness" which awaits you beyond the exclusive luxury hotels overlooking the Falls. The writer took his wife and two teenagers and stayed at the King George.

I understand that the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is 20 miles away from the Falls and the NYTimes described it as "quiet and charming" and the home of "a remarkable collection of beautifully preserved 19th-century buildings now housing inns, restaurants and boutiques."

We're looking forward to the King George......

Just got back from NOTL lake 3 weeks ago. I had a great time. There are at least 40 B&Bs in the town. Here are a few of the websites that I used in researching B&Bs there. http://www.niagarabb.com/ http://www.infoniagara.com/notl/ Enjoy your trip.

NIagara on the Lake is what they say it is; quiant, charming, anti-seedy like Niagara Falls.

However I feel hotels are overpriced; B&B's are much friendlier and reasonable option.

We love to stay -every time we have a chance to - at the Chateau Gate B&B. Its located in the Old Town, and a Lady who owns it is a real sweet; her collection of art amazing (herself a performing violinist).

House is of the most unusual design and food is fabulous.

You will love it.

Hope she will have a vacancy because it is all worth it to experience.

Good luck
