Hotels near train station?

I'm considering a trip to Ottawa via train. I was wondering if there are any hotels within walking distance? Or, do any of the hotels offer a shuttle to / from the train station? Thank you.

It's nice to hear that you are considering a trip to Ottawa.

The train station is located outside the downtown core, and there is nothing much within walking distance. However, there is a city bus (OC Transpo, route 95) that stops at the station at very frequent intervals, and will take you downtown in less than 15 minutes.

Hope you have a great holiday!

To follow up on the previous poster's message...OC transpo web site is http://www.octranspo.com/ There you can found route maps etc.

The only hotel within walking distance is the Hampton Inn on Coventry Road, http://www.hamptoninnottawa.com/index_h.asp

Not a terribly pleasant walk, as you would have to negotiate the station access roads and cross over the Queensway, the cross-town freeway. The hotel is also poorly located for guests without cars - nothing nearby to walk to.

I would concur with the above advice to take the bus to the city centre.

There is also the Chimo hotel which not too far from the train station. A short cab ride, away.
