Affordable family friendly restaurants in Ottawa?

Any suggestions for affordable family friendly restaurants? Anything unique, also? We will be staying for 5 days a the Courtyard near the Bytown Market but we will also be walking to most of the local museums. Parliament Hill, etc. We don't mind a good walk but have no desire to get back in the car. Need somewhere with some vegetarian options, and would love a variety of suggestions but we do love Italian! Love eating outdoors too.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

There are a ton of places to eat in and around the Market area, and most will be family friendly.

Affordability will depend on what you consider afforable, personalIy find most places in the Market expensive.

I think Sante (not sure about the family friendly part) corner of Sussex and Rideau (upstairs) is a very nice place that is more on the Vegitarian side.

Tucker's Marketplace is an upscale Buffet (dinner on Sunday adults $18) with lots of choices (but no chicken fingers/pizza etc) my fussy youngest only ate 1/2 bowl of chilli, a few fries, and ice cream and it cost me $8.50, plus his drink.

There are also most of the regular chains downtown as well.

Tuckers is a chain. You can see their menu here:

You can see a list of restaurants, and other shops in the Market here:

Of course if the weather is nice, you can always buy fruits, veggies, etc from the market vendors and have a picnic!

Hello, not far from your hotel is the Chez Lucien. Do not be put off by the exterior. Reasonably priced with several vegetarian/vegan options.

For affordable family restaurants in that area I'd say Lonestar, Dunn's, Tucker's Marketplace, Zak's Diner, Ahora.. you can also ask the front desk at your hotel.
