Travelling into US side

Hello Sault,

I'll be visiting the area in the first week of May. I am interested in going into the US for a day, but I will probably have to rely on public transportation. I was wondering how far a trip it is, if there's good public transportation across the border (and the cost), as well as any recommendations people may have for entertaining things to do on either side of the border.

Thanks a bunch!

The 2 Sault Ste Maries are separated by bridges over water. Note that SSM USA is a much smaller community. On that USA side, the locks are a tourist attraction. On the Cdn side, there's a boardwalk along the water. Both sides have casinos.
