Dinner before Blue Jay game on a Wednesday

Any suggestions for dinner before a game, 2 adults 3 teenagers, probably pub type food. Also what time should we eat if game is at 7.

If you are hockey fans you can try Wayne Gretzky's. Loose Moose and Lone Star are just a couple of options. I would suggest 5:00 so you can enjoy the atmosphere outside the Rogers Centre prior to the game.

There's security to get in so you don't want to be in a last minute scramble and if you haven't been before you can enjoy the interior atmosphere if you go in early.

Stay away from Loose Moose. We ate there in June and the salad was wilted, and the wings very tiny. Jack Astors or Wayne Gretzky would be my choice.

Personally, if you want good and cheap in that area I'd highly recommend grabbing BBQ chicken at Churrasco of St. Lawrence at the St. Lawrence Market (right front entrance door) They usually open later than most places in the market, but I'd get there for 4:30-5pm and then you can walk along Front Street to the Dome.

If you're interested in a sports bar the biggest one with jaw dropping large screens is Real Sports Bar.

Craft beer fans might like Amsterdam Brewhouse.

Both aren't immediately close to Rogers Centre maybe a 15 minute or less walk away but if you eat earlier that gives you time to walk over earlier and soak up the game atmosphere.

The Amsterdam-pub is on the waterfront with a nice patio overlooking the harbour- http://amsterdambrewhouse.com/ It's a short walk just south of the dome.
