We are looking for a nice hotel close to zoo.or midway between zoo and downtown. Any recommendations. Thanks
There really isn't anything of interest near the Zoo, or midway to stay. If your plans are to visit Toronto, I would suggest just staying downtown near most of the sights.
Take a day and drive to the Zoo to enjoy the experience. The Toronto Zoo isn’t a typical concrete and bars zoo. It is divided into six zoogeographic regions with the animals displayed indoors in tropical pavilions and outdoors in naturalistic environments. The zoo is one of the largest in the world, encompassing an area of 287 hectares / 710 acres !
Delta Marriott at Highway 401 and Kennedy is the one that is closest to the zoo. However, it is not convenient to get to downtown. That would be Novotel North York or Holliday Innn Yorkdate, both on subway lines and also close to 401 to get to the zoo.
The Westin Prince Hotel is the nicest one I think between Scarborough (the area where the zoo is) and a the nicer hotels downtown. There are restaurants and Starbucks within walking distance of the hotel.
