Girls weekend...hotel, clubs, nightlife

Will be in Toronto last weekend in July. Girls 20's -40s. Looking at Sheraton, but any other suggestions? Want to stay "reasonably" priced....under $200. Any fun clubs or bars that are not pick up joints? Fun things to do during the day? Are there any good shows(plays) right now? Any recommendations for restaraunts?

Hello pjvan.

One hotel that you may want to consider for a girl's weekend is the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel. It is quite a nice place and attached to a fabulous mall, that is actually one of Toronto's popular tourist attractions.

As far as restaurants what type of food are you interested in? There are so many restaurants in the city. You can check out the restaurant option to the left of this page for a few ideas to get you started.

Miss Saigon, Rock of Ages, and Jersey Boys are playing in Toronto while you're in town, if any of those plays appeal to you.

As far as stuff to do during the day....without knowing your interests and what type of things you want to do....you can consider the Distillery District which is a very quaint area with artisan shops and art galleries, restaurants etc. Or you can check out Queen Street West for great shopping. Kensington Market is another fun area with vintage clothing stores, markets, restaurants and so forth. Yorkville is another nice area with all types of boutiques, outdoor cafes...it is on the higher end. Then there's the tourist attractions such as the CN Tower, Casa Loma, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Hope this gives you a few ideas and a bit of a start. Oh and one more thing if you are looking for a good place for brunch check out Aunties and Uncles...it's a great place. (and fyi it only takes cash)

Good luck planning your trip. I am sure you will all enjoy Toronto a lot.
