hot docs accommodations

Hello...We will be in Toronto for the Hot Docs festival at the end of April. We are looking for somewhere to stay in the downtown core, as we plan to walk everywhere to aid in our training for a half marathon. We would like to stay in a small guesthouse/inn or boutique type hotel. We are not fond of B&B's do to past bad experiences. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated as our time approaches quickly. Thanks

Boutique hotels (these will be pricey):

Hotel Le Germain

Le Germain Maple Leaf Square

Soho Met

Smaller hotels:

Hotel Victoria

All of these hotels are in the south end of downtown while most of the Hot Docs venues (other than TIFF Bell Lightbox) are more at the northern end of downtown, so you will be getting that training in if you plan to walk everywhere.

Uptown smaller places would include (again, pricey):

The Windsor Arms

The Hazelton Hotel

Hot Docs has many venues around Downtown although mostly in the west end. For a smaller boutique type hotel, I'd suggest The Thompson Hotel on Bathurst or Le Germaine on Mercer
