CT to Toronto

We have about 10 days to travel from Westport, CT and end up in Toronto. Looking for nice scenic route with B&Bs along the way. Our plan is to stay at the same B&B for a night or 2 and do day trips from there to "have to see" places. Looking for recommendations on for a route, B&Bs and places to visit.

One possibility would be to head up through Vermont and then over to Gananoque, ON and visit the Thousand Islands. You could also do a long loop through VT or NH to Maine, to Quebec City, to Montreal, to Gananoque to Toronto. Another possibility is to head to Niagara Falls (definitely a must see) to Niagara-on-the-Lake and maybe Stratford, ON. Niagara-on-the-Lake and Stratford have theater festivals in the summer. These recommendations are all assuming that you will be going in the May to September time frame. If not, then skip Gananoque and the theater festivals.

Kingston might be a nice stop along your way. There are some very nice B and B's, and a wide variety of things to keep your interest.

Another possibility is to extend the eastern route loop and visit our nation's capital, Ottawa and head through Algonquin Park. Or you can go north of Montreal and visit the Laurentian's.

Defitintely second the Ottawa idea if you can add an extra day there.... Mount Washington in NH is another possibility, get yourself a bumper sticker there!
