Visitor from where? The location indicator in your profile says you're from Toronto.

I'll recycle a response I've given before to people looking for nature-oriented destinations outside Toronto. I can go into more detail once you're interested in a certain destination.

----

- The northern Bruce Penninsula (Bruce Peninsula National Park/Tobermory area) - Hike through cedar forests along dolostone cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Georgian Bay. Swim or kayak among the rock formations, or take a boat ride to see them. About a 4 hour drive from Toronto.

- Parry Sound and Muskoka districts - on the other (east) side of Georgian Bay, an example of the Canadian Shield landscape of rugged granite covered in pine and hardwood forest. A maze of inlets and islands along the Georgian Bay coast (the 30,000 Islands), and countless small lakes inland. This is Ontario's top "cottage country" and there are many resorts, rental cabins, and towns. 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Toronto.

- Algonquin Provincial Park - a very large protected inland area of Canadian Shield wilderness north of Muskoka. Campgrounds and hiking trails available along the Highway 60 corridor through the southwest part of the park, endless network of canoe routes within park interior. Top spot for wildlife observation and research. 3 to 3.5 hour drive from Toronto.

- Killarney Provincial Park - farther and more remote, but probably the most picturesque option. Wilderness area on the north shore of Georgian Bay, home to the white quartzite hills of the La Cloche range, which make for amazing hiking or canoeing. 5.5 hour drive from Toronto.
