Niagara is a wine making region, so you may want to visit some local wineries.

For culture check out the Shaw theater festival http://www.shawfest.com/ This year's plays include Guys and Dolls.

For adventure consider the Niagara jet boats http://www.whirlpooljet.com/

So many great things to do in this city! If you like food, I recommend a food tour with culinaryadventureco.com - they can accommodate gluten free. They also have trips to the other wine region which is Prince Edward County - very picturesque and lovely.

Lots of great restaurants, parks, and discovery walks. Areas to visit include Kensington Market/Chinatown, Queen St. W., Riverside, Yorkville, Cabbagetown, Distillery District - all have a unique flare.

Niagara is great for a day trip or over nighter.

Enjoy the city!

You'd have to narrow down your interests in the "culture" department. Toronto is a huge city with a full range of cultural offerings: theatres both broadway-style and small-scale, museums both general and specialized, great restaurants both fancy and grungy, historical sites both preserved and adapted, art galleries both mainstream and obscure, unique neighbourhoods both upscale and seedy, etc. Also not clear what you mean by adventure. Are you looking for outdoor/wilderness activities like hiking and canoeing/kayaking? If so you'd do best to travel north from Toronto. Or just thrill-seeking attractions like the CN Tower EdgeWalk?

Thank you everyone for suggestions, makes planning an itinerary easier. Tweedwolfscream and CharlieRogers, we definitely will do EdgeWalk and the Jet boats and check out Shaw Festival- loved guys and dolls. We are planning to be in Niagara Falls for the weekend, probably taking public transport to NF- thought about leaving NF Sunday mid day (public transport) and heading straight to the YYZ airport. How many long (hours) should we allow to get to the airport? Is there a best route?

Hi Averagegalz13;

Toronto is approx. 80 miles / 130 km from Niagara Falls. Toronto's Pearson Int'l is approx. 18 miles / 28 km northwest of the city.

Public transit will take you into downtown Toronto and then you will need to make your way to the airport.

Your best option is to take a shuttle direct to the airport.

www.NiagaraAirBus.com

www.JewelOfNiagara.com

By shuttle, the drive would be about 2.5 hours.

Best Regards
