Need help finding best solution for travelling w/ big group!

Hey what's the best way to travel with a large group? I have upwards of 10 co-workers travelling from ottawa to toronto for a conference and i've looked into homeaway.ca and hotel deals... Not only is there a full payment required right away for anyone on homeaway.ca but there's also a big security deposit that I wouldn't get back for up to 2-3 weeks. On a side note, it would be nice not to throw it on a credit card and have to chase co-workers around for money...

Any suggestions?

1. If you are attending a conference, why isn't your conference provider having a hotel recco for you?

2. If they don't already have one set up, and you know you have 10 people with 10 rooms, call the host hotel directly and tell them you have 10 people who want space, what can they do about making a group rate? Then the co workers have to put their own credit cards down, but you've secured a nicer rate.

You would be considered a group and get a special rate for that many rooms. Contact any hotel directly and they will definitely help you out.

Otherwise most hotels only need a CC to Hold a room they won't charge you until check out.
