Toronto Airport and Catching a Connecting Internal Flight.

Hi guys, hope you can help me with a quick query.

Am flying from Dublin to Toronto at the end of August with Air Canada. My flight gets in at 13:05pm to Terminal 1 and I have to catch a connecting flight to Vancouver (again with Air Canada) at 15:00.

Is this leaving me with too little time to catch a connecting flight? And do I have to clear customs here or in Vancouver.

Many thanks for your help and looking at this.

That's tight, but doable.

You will clear customs in Toronto.

Is this a single ticket on AC? If so, you should be alright, since if the first flight is delayed they'll get you on a later flight, and there should be several more to Vancouver that afternoon.

If booking separate tickets, I would leave more time.

Hi there...yeah..it's all booked with Air Canada, so am hoping they book the luggage straight through to Vancouver. Am assuming customs will be quite lengthy time wise.

Are the flights at the same terminal?? If so, much less to worry about...

It's hard to say with customs - I've sailed through in under 5 minutes, and I've been hung up for an hour - you never really know.

There is a separate customs line for connecting flights which is expedited. When you arrive in the customs hall, it is usually to your left. There should be a person as you enter the main hall asking if you have a connecting flight and they will direct you to the correct line.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. Yes the flights are the same terminal. If the customs line is fastracked for connecting flights, even better!

Thanks again!

Yes, you can typically get through immigration faster because you're a connecting passenger. However, you'll probably still have to wait to collect your checked baggage to clear customs, then drop it off again (aircanada.com/en/…yyz_intl_ca.html).

The good news is that Air Canada has a minimum of 75 minutes for this connection, so you should have extra time and as Kimmer mentions they'd rebook you on a later flight if anything goes wrong.

As already posted, you clear customs here in Toronto. I would say you have lots of time, especially because you do not have to change terminals.
