Reasonably priced hotel in Toronto for two nights

I will arriving in Canada early October for a week, staying with friends in Acton for 5 nights then heading into Toronto to see a friend and also want to do some sight seeing before heading home from Pearson airport. So any recommendations for a cheap(ish) to moderate hotel will be much appreciated.

Do you wish to stay reasonably near your friend in Toronto? If so, please specify what area that friend lives in (Toronto is a very large city).

What do you consider to be reasonable and moderate? Give us an amount.

Take a look at the Toronto Hotels section for possibilities - perhaps narrow down some choices and come back to us. You will want to be downtown for easy transit and walking access to sights.

Not to concerned about staying near my friend as she lives in East York so she can meet me in the City somewhere. Yes i know it is a large City but say maybe near enough to have a look at all the sights, bars etc but not too far from the airport.

Looking at around 80 - 100 dollars a night max.

At that price range, your best bets are hostels, or third-party booking sites like Hotwire or Priceline. You can also use sites like:

to take some of the guessing out of third-party sites.

Good luck!

Hi BRETTSKI8;

To be close to most of the sights, you'll want to stay in downtown Toronto, but your budget is way too low.

Best Regards

My friend who lives there put me onto a hotel called Toronto Plaza Airport Hotel, for two nights the cost will be 120 CDN so i have eventually decided on this.

Well that's an odd location - pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Hope you have a car to get around - not much in the way of convenient transit.

To give you an idea of where you are:

A is your hotel

B is the CN Tower in downtown Toronto.

There are other hotels that might be closer to public transit, but still within your $120 a night budget. Try the Holiday Inn Yorkdale. It's across from a large shopping centre, with a subway station that can get you downtown easily.

Cab fare from the Plaza is going to be about $70.

Transit is cheaper but will take a long time - bus & subway combo.
