The Parkbus schedule for this coming weekend seems to only have a return trip to Toronto on the 6th of October, making the trip Friday - Sunday, not a one day trip........October 4th--Toronto to Bruce Peninsula, October 6th, Bruce to Toronto.....there's a hiking festival going on.......

The GO Train/ GO Bus is an alternative for a one-day trip................there is GO Bus service from Toronto north to Barrie on the weekends...........you can travel via GO Bus to the Barrie waterfront station, which is across the street from Centennial Park, on Kempenfelt Bay....the park has lots of trees, albeit not a forest, but they should be pretty this time of year, and walk along the waterfront trail ....close to the trail there is a little main street in downtown Barrie - Dunlop Street, where you will find some shops, and some cafes/pubs/restaurants to stop by for lunch/dinner........then take the GO Bus back to Toronto...this may work, as Barrie is only an hour or so north of Toronto up the 400 Highway....

You don't have to go out of the city to enjoy the Fall colors. In about a week or two, Sunnybrooke Park will have brilliant colors. Go there and walk on the trails, specially the bike trail that links Sunnybrooke to Edwards Gardens. You will be amazed. Check out this link of photos that I have taken there.

Your photos are gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing them. I am also hoping to see the fall colours later this month.

It's true....you don't have to leave the city to see the leaves!......Toronto has more than its fair share of green space, and the following is a list of places where you can view the glory of Autumn right in T.O........end of September-beginning of October a prime time for "Leaf Peeping"

Rouge Park/Toronto Zoo

The Toronto Islands

Bluffers Park

Don Valley/Riverdale Farm

High Park/Grenadier Pond with its mature Carolinian forest
