Any cheap parking lot in Downtown Toronto?

Hi,

We'll be arriving at Toronto tomorrow and we are staying at Courtyard Marriotte Downtown on Yonge street. I found out the parking fee is $40 daily. Can I do any better than that? That's almost half of the nightly hotel charge! What would be the best? I don't need a car for the next four days. Any help would be great.

The municipally owned Green P parking lots offer the best over night rates at $6.00 or $7.00 but during the day the charge is by the half hour.

Here's the Green P link:

And here's another that may help:

Note that rates are always higher on weekdays as opposed to weekends.

Even during the day most Green P lots have a maximum/flat rate that will cover you throughout the day and a separate one for the night time hours, so you won't have to pay 4 full days' worth of half-hourly rates.

Note that Green P rates vary by lot, and are cheaper the farther you get from the downtown core (though they're always cheaper than the market rate you'll get at private lots in any given area). So if you really wanted to save some money, you can find a Green P lot that's outside the core but close to a subway station, park your car there and take the subway back to the hotel. At the "unmanned" Green P lots (which includes most of those outside the downtown core, and which operate on a pay-and-display system), you can pay for up to $99 worth of parking at once, which depending on the lot might cover you for your whole stay.
