Help choosing downtown Toronto hotel for April 25-28

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I will be traveling to Canada in the next 2 weeks and need help choosing a budget friendly hotel in downtown Toronto. We want to be within walking distance to bars/lounges/main attractions. And are looking for clean, comfortable accommodations. We've narrowed it down to 3 hotels. They are all pretty much within the same price range. Which hotel would you recommend?

Ramada Plaza (300 Jarvis)

Omni King Edward Hotel (37 King St E)

Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Center (30 Carlton St)

Looking forward to your feedback :)

I can't comment on what it's like inside the hotels, but just going on location alone I'd take the King Edward. You'd be right by St. Lawrence Market and the Esplanade, and not far from the Entertainment District and the waterfront. I find the Carlton and Jarvis area a little depressing. All those spots (especially the latter two) are close enough to the Yonge subway and other transit routes that getting around the city to other attractions won't be a problem.

If you can get the King Edward for a budget friendly rate take it. As a hotel it is far and away superior to the other two.

Wonderful, thank you all so much!

In the event I can't get the groupon for King Edward hotel, are the Ramada and Holiday Inn still within walking distance? And most importantly are they in good/safe areas?

Really appreciate your insights :)

On this .google map link

http://goo.gl/maps/Qcgsn

A is the Holiday Inn

B is the Ramada

C is the King Edward.

The subway runs underneath Yonge Street which you can see on the map.

I'd be inclined to take the Holiday Inn over the Ramada

Agree with phpr. The Holiday Inn is a 1/2 block from a subway station to get you downtown, and it is right on the streetcar line running west to Kensington Market and Little Italy areas.
