interesting caves and farms near to Toronto

Hello,

I will visit Toronto and Niagara falls area for 4 nights. I'm interested to see CN tower, Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Bruce Peninsula National Park but unfortunately it is far about 4 hours drive from Toronto :( , farms , and Caves.

I found this cave http://www.sceniccaves.com/ but some people said it is not worthy. could you tell if there is really interesting caves in Ontario near Toronto or Ottawa because I will visit Ottawa in one weekend. Also, could you tell me if there is really nice farm??? and if you have suggestions for nice places I will be happy

thanks

What do you mean by a nice farm? Most farms are privately owned.

In Ottawa you can go to the Agriculture Museum, which is a working farm.

Caves in Peterborough area:

You must be more specific .... "suggestions for nice places" is really unhelpful.... there are thousands of nice places in Ontario.

Maybe you were thinking of Whittamore's Farm, which is at Steeles and Markham Road, so just on the north edge of Toronto. http://www.whittamoresfarm.com They offer several crops as pick-your-own, including strawberries, but strawberries won't start coming ripe until June. It's just not clear what you mean by "a really nice farm", since a farm is not typically a tourist attraction although some may have tourism-related businesses on site or like in this case offer pick-your-own service. Within downtown Toronto there's Riverdale Farm, which is not a working farm but sort of a zoo of farm animals.

4 nights is probaly not enough to visit Toronto plus several parks. If you're driving from Kingston, the Warsaw Caves would be roughy on the way.

For caves, the only true caves that I am aware of are the Bonnechere Caves near Ottawa in Eganville. It is a solution cave formed by water running through it. There are some stalactites and stalagmites.

Most other caves in Ontario, such as those mentioned are formed of crevices and collapsed rocks. in limestone.

The Scenic caves in the Collingwood area are not really caves, more like very deep crevices or mini-mini-canyons. They are most definitely improperly named. However, they are interesting because of the First Nations history surrounding the area, and you will find this historical information well-displayed throughout the "caves". Coming from Kuwait, you might find that aspect of our country's history to be interesting, and it is a very nice nature walk.

In the Ottawa area there is the Lafleche Caves, but I do not really think they are worth the trip. Most of the growths inside were taken before it was controlled.

Warsaw Caves aren't that interesting. Scenic Caves are more developed, but not spectacular.

For farms, it depends on the season. You can pick your own vegetables or fruits. Also check out the farmers markets, there are many interesting things to see and eat! http://www.farmersmarketsontario.com/
