Niagara Falls From Toronto

We are from Los Angeles and we are planning to visit Canada. We are planning to Flight to Toronto and stay there for 3 days then visit Niagara Falls and fly to Montreal and Quebec for a 3 days visit.

My first question is : Is one day trip enogh time to drive to Niagara Falls from Toronto downtown to visit and drive back to our Toronto Hotel?

My second question is : Is 3 days enough time to visit Montreal and Quebec city?

Toronto to NF is a two hour drive under good driving conditions. So you will have enough time to spend there and return to Toronto for the night. Just be mindful that during the summer, Niagara Falls gets really crowded on weekends. Parking will be a problem and restaurants also gets really crowded at that time. If you have to do NF on a weekend, just start very early from Toronto.

3 days in Montreal and Quebec City should be sufficient for a quick visit. Also depends on how you are going to get to Montreal and Quebec City from Toronto.

Depends on what you want to see and do in NF? See this TA article from the Niagara Falls forum:

tripadvisor.com/Travel-g154998-c197834/Niaga…

Most people can do NF in a day trip, but normally an overnight, with two days is about right.

As for your plans for Montreal and Quebec City, if you're planning 3 days for both cities then that is really shortchanging both. We usually suggest a minimum of 3 days each for Toronto & Montreal, and 2 -3 days for Quebec City.

If you've only 3 days, then you should choose one or the other of Montreal or Quebec City. For better info on the two cities you should post in those forums.

Yes, one day should be enough as long as you concentrate on the falls and the nature that surrounds the Niagara river. There is lot of other stuff there like Marineland, Niagara Casino, and all kinds of "attractions" like Ripley's museum and similar places. Niagara town itself is a tourist trap and I would not step there in a million years.

The main attractions (for me) are the falls, scenic tunnels, the boat ride, Niagara nature conservatory, the parks beside the Niagara river and the lovely town of Niagara-on-the-lake.

One day in Toronto is enough, as long as you concentrate on the natural parts like the Islands and the beaches area. There is other stuff like a tower, aquarium, some museums, shopping and restaurants. Toronto is just a big city like many others so I never go there, but my favourite things there are live theatre, Blue Jays games, St. Lawrence Market and Muskoka.

(All tongue in cheek folks!!!)

yes it's enough time. i did a day trip from Toronto to the falls. you won't have time to see "everything" but you can have a perfectly satisfactory visit within a day. i had a great time, it was very pretty. i went in July and had no trouble with food or parking.
