Windsor train station to Comerica Park

We need to get from Toronto to Detroit. Car hire would be our preferred method, but can't find any one ways - any suggestions?

Otherwise, public transport might be another option - Thinking train from Toronto to Windsor....but then how do we get to the Tunnel Bus to take us into Detroit? Does it loop around there? Do we need to get a cab to the bus terminal?

And does the Tunnel Bus go near Comerica Park at the other end?

Bear in mind we're travelling with an 8 year old and a baby - so looking for easiest options :)

Hi globalgirll;

If you're attempting to book a rental car online, one-way, you will most likely receive a default reply - no cars available. That is because of the cross border rental. You will need to contact the company directly.

Rental cars cross the border, one-way, hundreds of times each day. Avis, Budget & Hertz are 3 companies that certainly allow one-way, cross border, rentals.

Best Regards

The train station in Windsor is located approximately 3 miles from where you would catch the Tunnel Bus to Detroit. The Tunnel Bus loop in Detroit comes within 1 mile of Comerica Park. If there is a baseball game or special event, they MAY have special routes set up.

For the easiest thing, take the train to Windsor and get a cab to take you across to Comerica Park. Especially with a child and a baby.

Having traveled from Detroit to Toronto in a rental car, one way... It definitely is possible. If I remember correctly though, they did charge an added fee for the one way drop off.

For games at Comerica, Windsor Transit runs the tunnel bus to the park, it's ideal and convenient as long as you can put up with Tigers fans....

Guess you could take the train from Toronto over to London and then take the bus from London to Windsor. The train and bus stations in London are close enough to walk to, why Windsor bus/train stations are so far apart i don't know.

Greyhound Canada will take you right to Windsor bus station and from there you can take the tunnel bus to Detroit
