My husband and I will be traveling to Quebec - Montreal, Quebec City and Tadoussac for a week during the first of June. I have to do more research on restaurants but know that I want to eat bagels (either St. Viateur or Fairmont), poutine (La Bansque or Ma’am Bolduc) and eat at Juliette et Chocolat in Montreal. Any suggestions on other must eats or restaurants in Montreal, Quebec City or Tadoussac would be appreciated.

Any feedback - too ambitious, add certain must see things or eats, switch certain attractions to different days, etc - will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hi MeganHernando-MS,

Welcome to the QUEBEC (La-Belle-Province) TRAVEL FORUM

As you have posted at the Provincial level here on TA... then the best comments you'll get here will be regard to your overall timing of your Itinerary... for that I'd say things look good...

DAYS 1, 2, and 3 - Montreal

DAY 4 - Montreal to Quebec City (aprox 3 Hours)

DAY 5 - Quebec City to Tadoussac (aprox 4-1/2 Hours)

DAY 6 - Tadoussac to Quebec City (aprox 4-1/2 Hours)

DAY 7 - Quebec City

DAY 8 - Quebec City to Montreal (aprox 3 Hours)

But coming from the US, I would have alloted more time for Quebec City vs Montreal... because of the "contribution" that Old Quebec has made to North America as a whole... and being the oldest city in North America, and the ongoing cradle to French culture (so vastly different than anything else in Canada or the USA... whereas Montreal is in many ways just another BIG City... don't get me wrong... I LOVE Montreal... but it isn't Old Quebec !!)

For feedback on the specifics to your Itinerary I suggest that you post in the DESTINATION FORUMS that are for each city... so Montreal - Quebec City - and Tadoussac... that way you'll have direct access to the Local Advisors & DEs who know each Destination best (and your Questions go front and centre in those FORUMS... and the local DEs get emails from TA telling them that someone needs their expertise)... truly the best way to get info on a Destination... the more replies you get... the more info you get to work with.... as many times those who write replies don't look at the FORUMS that have a broader scope (such as the ones for the Provinces, or the Country as a whole).

TA - MONTREAL TRAVEL FORUM = tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g155032-i51-Montrea…

TA - QUEBEC CITY TRAVEL FORUM = tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g155033-i134-Quebec…

TA - TADOUSSAC TRAVEL FORUM = tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g155036-i2735-Tadou…

And also the TRAVEL FORUMS directly link you up with other info here on TA... such as the TOP QUESTIONS about any Destinations (Look for the Box to the right of the screens)... and the TRAVEL PAGES (buttons to the left of the screens)

Hope this is helpful,

Cheers!

2. Re: Intinerary Help

There are so many details in your ittinerary that I just copied and pasted it and will then comment on some bits using capital letters.

Thursday May 31st

Montreal

Arrive around 3:00 p.m. and check into Le Meridien Versailles

Schwartz’s

Mont Royal

Chalet du Mont Royal

Museum and Belvedere Kondiaronk – outlook over downtown

Parc

St. Joseph’s Oratory

IF YO ARRIVE AT AROUND 3 PM AND HAVEN'T CHECKED YET IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO VISIT THE oRATORY AND THE MUSEUM BEFORE THEY CLOSE. BEST WOULD BE TO DRIVE ON COTE DES NEIGES ROAD STRAIGHT AWAY AND GO TO THE ORATORY FIRST THEN DRIVE TO THE MAIN PARKING LOT IN THE PARK. BY THE WAY BELVEDERE AND CHALET ARE THE SAME THING, AND MOUNT ROYAL SIGHTSEEING IS MOSTLY THE PARK . THEN TAKE CAMILIEN HOUDE ROAD AND GO TO SCHWARTZ.

Friday June 1st

Montreal

Grayline Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour

Walk around Vieux Montreal (the ** would be certain stops)

Place d’Armes

**Notre Dame Basilica Montreal

Old Sulpican Seminary

City Hall

**Notre Dame de Bon Secours Chapel/Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum

Bonsecours Market (souvenirs, crafts)

Place Jacques Cartier

Clock Tower

**Pointe-a-Calliere Montreal Museum of Archeology and History

Cirque du Soliel at 8:00

Lunch: Olive et Gourmando

Au Pied de Cochon ??

BE AWARE THAT EXCEPT FOT THE CHURCHES AND MUSEUMS THE OTHERS ARE JUST SIGHTS FOR ONE MINUTE OR SO. tHAT IS EXCEPT THE CLOCKTOWER THAT YOU CAN CLIMB. GREAT TO HAVE CduS BUT APDC IS TOO FAR, TRY CHEZ L'ÉPICIER INSTEAD, MUCH MORE CALM AND A VERY INVENTIVE QUÉBÉCOIS CHEF.

Saturday June 2nd

Montreal

Olympic Park – Viau Station

Stade Olympic and Olympic Tower

Funicular to observation level

Shuttle between Stadium and Garden

Jardin Botanique

Japanese -- Bonsai

Biodome

(if time, metro to Parc Jean-Drapeau – Ile Ste-Helene for views of downtown and pic of biosphere)

SKIP THE OLYMPIC STADIUM VISIT, THE TOWER IS ENOUGH THEN DO THE BIODOME BEFORE GOING TO THE BG.

Underground City

Vieux Montreal at night

Lunch: Moe’s Deli and Bar – Montrealais Burger ??

Dinner:

QUEBECOIS BURGER TRY LA PARISE. UNDERGROUND CITY IS JUST SHOPPING GALORE I WOULD SKIP IT AND DRIVE TO QC ALREADY

Sunday June 3rd

Oops running out of time! To be continued...
