Moderate to High Restaurants in Montreal

One or two restaurants a step below Europea and Toque price wise. More on Beaver Hall's level?? Prefer downtown. Maybe one in Old Town. Want to dress nice and have good experience. But, we are 4 people and splurging on other things.

Thank you!

First... Old Town is in Quebec City, in Montreal we call it Old Montreal. (It confuses us when people say Old Town... we wonder why you talking about Quebec City.)

Restaurants are unique. Very few restaurants in Montreal have a dress code. Maybe the Beaver Club has a dress code.

Even Europea and Toque are casual dress.

You are going to need to tell us what kind of food you want, because we can each give you at least a dozen restaurants that fit that bill (except for the formal part).

Europea is a chain so you are already looking at one of their lesser expensive place, Beaver Hall but there is also Andiamo, and down the hill, not same owners, Brasserie Holder could fit the bill too.
