Driving from NewYork to Montreal via West Rupert in may 201

We are visiting friends in West Rupert and are wondering whether to drive from West Rupert straight through to Montreal or break the trip somewhere. Not interested in shopping. A quant town, maybe.

Thanks

I had to find West Rupert first before I could answer (LOL)

You are far enough up that I wouldn't stay overnight anywhere. You could continue driving north along Route 7 which is very scenic and does have some quaint towns, before eventually hitting Highway 89 and crossing into Canada.
