Montreal Night Life

Greetings,

My girl friends and I will be visiting Montreal from 6/11/14-6/16/14 from Southern California. We have never been to Canada and would like some advice on what part of the city we should stay in. We are assuming that downtown would be best as we are looking for an area filled with bars and places to dance and have fun. Would this be the appropriate area? Is there a different area we should consider for an active nightlife? We couldn't decide between Toronto or Montreal, but it seems that Montreal has a better nightlife from the research I've collected. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

And legal drinking age in Montréal is still only 18 if that might relate to you and also our bars and clubs close at 3 pm.

Definetely the downtown core will be the best for you but if you want to party until the wee hours than you might consider the Saint-Laurent clubbing area just west of downtown where Hotel 10 aka H10TEL is located and draw a lot of clientele for the party places in this area. Not far from downtown actually and neither to Old Montréal, about a 10 minutes walk for either.

If you want to get naughty then you would also be close to the (in)famous Club 281, think Chippendale's but with even less clothes on!

Hi Everyone,

Do you have any other particular recommendations for places to go dance? We are a couple in our late 20s/early 30s, into EDM or plain old top 40.

Thank you!
