6 hour layover, is it worth leaving the airport?

It's been years since I've been to Montreal, and will now be flying through on my way to London in October. I have a 6 hour layover and am wondering if it is worth it to leave the airport? I will me traveling with my toddler, and subtracting time for transport, will only have about 3.5-4hrs to hang out in the city. Sould I even bother? If so, what should/could I do?

Thank you!

If you have 6 hours between flights you really do not have time to leave the airport. Check in for European flights in supposed to be 3 hours, probably 2 is fine with no bags. But security lines can be long.

Getting downtown is about 45 minutes each way, if there are no traffic hiccups in a city known for traffic hiccups.

That would leave you about 90 to 120 minutes to enjoy the city.

Of course 6 hours at an airport is not much fun with a toddler either.

I wouldn't go into the city, there's not enough time and who needs the stress?

How about venturing out of the airport (if it's a nice day) and staying on the west island? You would have time to take a cab down to the Pointe Claire Village, maybe get an ice cream cone at Wild Willy's ( they make their own) and sit on a bench along the water?

If you really want to get out, maybe take a taxi and take a walk near the canal Lachine, but going downtown, you will be nervous. There is a lot of construction.
