Montreal airport to Old City of Quebec (sans car!)

We are arriving in Montreal at 10:46 AM on Oct. 7th and need to get to Hotel Le Germain-Dominion which is in the Old City of Quebec. On Monday, Oct. 10th, we have a 5:00 pm flight home out of Montreal. Please help us with transportation. (flights and hotel cannot be changed now). Thanks a lot!

Orléans Express offers service from Trudeau Airport to Québec City 6 times per day. Don't know if these buses still stop at the downtown bus terminal but the journey will take from 4h to 4h20 one way. Just check www.orleansexpress.com . Note that the English version can be accessed from the bottom of the opening page. As per getting the schedule just scroll the city of origin list and click for Montréal (Aéroport Trudeau) and not only Montréal.

Note that from the Gare d'Autocars de Montréal (intercity bus terminal) there are hourly departures all day long from very early to late in the evening. To get to the Gare d'Autocars you can either take the 747 bus ($8) that runs frequently and has said Gare as it's final destination point or a cab that will cost a flat rate of $38 + tip.

Direct from the airport: departure at 2 PM, arriving in QC at 6:15 PM http://tinyurl.com/276xwjx

Or you could take the 747 bus from the airport to the intercity bus terminal, and from there take one of the buses departing hourly to Québec City; you would possibly save 1 hour by doing so.

Hi,

Saving an hour would be terrific but it sounds like first going to the bus terminal from the airport would be losing time! I'll take your word for it. Will we have trouble finding the 747 bus to the inner city bus terminal? Is that the name of our final destination

(inner city bus terminal?) Sorry for all the details but we've never been before. AND once at the bus terminal, just get any bus to Old Quebec? Are some more direct than others? Can we get one that goes near that particular hotel? Thanks SO MUCH!

At the airport just ask to be pointed to the 747 bus stop and there won't be any problems except that if you want to pay cash on the bus it will accept only Canadian one and two dollars coins. Otherwise there is a ticket distributor nearby indoor and you can also buy the tickets from the money exchange counter also close by.

In Qc you don't want to get off at the first stop in the Sainte-Foy burb but at the second and last one at Gare du Palais which is not very far from your hotel, less than $10 cab ride.
