Any good bars in Vieux Quebec on a weeknight

We are visiting Quebec City for the very first time. We will be in Quebec City on 2 weeknights, so I was wondering if there are any good bars or lounges to go to in Vieux Quebec.

The 4 of us guys are all from Western Canada and don't speak French very well. We are all in our mid- late 20s.

I brought up Vieux Quebec b/c we plan to seem majority of our time there exploring and eating meals. I assumed it would be a good place for nightlife.

If not there, than is there anywhere else for non French speakers??

There are some good pubs on Rue St. Jean in Upper town, Pub St. Patrick and Saint Alexander pub. Both have great beer selections and occasional music, and of course food if you are hungry.

Good choices by JDP. Also consider some of the popular nightclubs such as Maurice, Dagobert, both on Grande Allée or the Boudoir Lounge down tucked between Charest and St. Joseph in Nouvo St-Roch.

There are a few to consider. There are many local spots with good music, bands etc. outside of that area but if you are sticking to the tourist scene then the last two are within that zone although outside of the walled city they are still part of the touristic area. Boudoir is down in the lower town and seems to be less traveled by tourists but becoming more popular. It is certainly a favorite area for us locals, good food etc.
