Dog Friendly Trails

I'm leaving for South Shore on Sunday for a week and I'm interested in suggestions for the best dog-friendly trails.

Hi, I'm more familiar with the North & West Shore trails. Not too far from the SLT are the Eagle Falls Trail and Mt Tallac Trail--both pup friendly. The Rim Trail is also dog friendly. You can also walk your dog on the paved paths.

If you plan to visit Tahoe often, I highly recommend the book linked below. Along with details of the hike itself it has a label system--good for biking, running, children, dogs, horses, etc.. Despite the title it is encompasses most the hikes around the area.

Thanks so much for the information.

The book you reference is available for Kindle, so I think I am going to download it.

Thanks again!

Also, if you hike w/dogs a lot and want a good book with suggestions for each month (based on weather, etc), this book can be found on Amazon and is downloadable (I found it at REI a couple of years ago and really like it) it's {48 Dog Friendly Trails in California Foothills and Sierra Nevada" by Debbie Preston. There ae about 4 hikes a month. I've done several of them and wouldn't hesitate to do any of the others.
