Help with where to go for biking, paddle/kayak, sunnying

Hi, will be driving up from Reno-Peppermill. We have a great deal there and close to family, but want to make day trips to Lake Tahoe for two of the days.Kids 12-15 may like paddle boat and kayak, but have never done either-what would be a relative safer option.... Also really want a beautiful fun beach day, possibly hiking or biking, but think we need relatively easier trails given older people. Any recommendations for these activities? And since we cannot really change clothes, looking for yummy food joints we can where shorts too.

Safest boats are probably the rental rafts at TC dam area, even for the elderly. Bikes and restaurants there also, and dress is informal cover with shorts fine for most everywhere in immediate area. This trail is interesting and easy, I have seen elderly and wheelchairs on it : tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1798615-d… Here's a link to some other more challenging ones easy to get to from Reno via freeway: squawcreek.com/pdf/New-tahoe-hikes-version-2…

You might be interested in camp Richardson. http://www.camprichardson.com/

Lake Tahoe is super casual for attire. Don't worry about that.

Tahoe City has everything you are looking for, nice biking trails, fairly flat, good for casual cyclists.

Camp Richardson is good too, but at the opposite side of the lake, TC is closer for you.
