Need your advice

Hi !

I need your advice which area to stay for one night. We have booked 1 night in the beattlefield area around Durban and would like to spent the next night in The Drakensberg area before heading for Durban.

Found a very nice B&B in Underberg, but that seems to be a little "out" of the way(backtracking). Have thought about Mooi River - Nottingham Road - that area perhaps.

We would like to see some beautiful scenery - see some local shops and just enjoy the landscape.

Any suggestions for which area to choose would be fine. Our tour will be in november this year and we will drive around in a rented car. Thank you - Jesper

Have a look at the site below which might give you some ideas.

Some other suggestions - they all look nice but I've never stayed at any since I live close to them but I've been to them all (except The Nest where I have stayed a couple of times but it may also be out of your way).

We stayed at Cathkin Cottage in the Central Drakensberg and loved it.

It is South of Winterton and close to the Drakensberg Sun Hotel.

I have written a review on this B & B and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Rooms facing the pool are best.

Just thought I'd mention that the area around Nottingham road is Exploding with things to see and do - especially of the "pop in and quickly see some local flavour" variety! Check out the attractions list on

to see what I mean :) I have passed through this area a few times and always wish I had more time to stop. The scenery is not quite full Drakensberg splendour but is nonetheless very picturesque.
