Railay Beach local restaurants

I am thinking of staying at the Rayavadee Resort in January 2015.Are there any local restaurants within walking distance of this hotel? If not can anyone recommend a good hotel which is more central.

Why booking at the Rayavadee????

It's not worth the money believe me. Also, that part of the beach is overcrowded, because yes it's the most beautiful part of Railay...

There is nowhere to eat on that part of the peninsula except the hotel retaurant itself, you'd have to walk down to central railay or even the walking street on west railay, it's a 10-15 minutes walk and in the dark you're guaranteed to be eaten by mosquitos!

Also, avoid those restaurants at the entrance of walking street in railay west, they're basically tourist traps. Just walk into the street and you'll find the Mangrove Restaurant and a very good indian restaurant.

Conclusion: book a room at Railay Village Resort (1/5th ot Rayavadee price, way to expensive) and eat lunch, dinner or even breakfast in walking street in Central Railay.

Phra Nang to Railay takes about 8 min walk not 15 min.

I agree that place is way overpriced. Railay resorts are also overpriced. Little food options.

Ao Nang has better value resorts and lots of restaurants.

Phra Nang beach is the nicest but the area is boring after an hour of swimming.

On the mainland you can hire a bike to ride around to markets and visit other beaches like khlong muang and tub kaek. Also krabi town has 2 food markets and shopping.
