Railay Beach area businesses closing?

Hi, I was talking to someone who had visited Railay Bay and area in the last six months or so and they had mentioned that some of the restaurants, bars, and businesses had closed there (since the last time they had visited), making it a lot quieter around there. Just wondering if anyone could confirm this, and to what extent this has occurred.

Thank you!

Was it just because it was low season possibly?

Only a few places there anyway. Ao Nang has a lot more.

I was there for 4 nights during the week of august 4th. It was really quite, especially at night, some shops were closed but all the restaurants in Central Railay (after you take walking street) were open and running.

It was low season.
