You either drive about 4+/hrs each way or fly 50/min to/from Amboseli. Return air is about $200/person.

The road has been improved, so not near as terrible as it had been previously.

The Masai are the Masai - no fakes.

Their cousins are the Samburu who are found up north.

Amboseli national park is the home of elephants ,its has many animals besides the elephants. It has a superb view of the mountain...both by air or by road..the road has quite improved and it would take you 4 hrs 30 mins if you don't have many stop overs along the way. The masai are original...only in mombasa and some beaches where you find fake masai..

Following the heavy downpour that was there 3 months ago lake nakuru became flooded to an extent some of the main gate services like e ticketing have been moved to nderit and lanet gates. The kws have been forced to create new roads since most were covered by floods . The flamingos have migrated to a nearby small lake: lake oloiden but you have to take a boat ride, since its a community lake the flamingos tend to move away from noise and disturbance . few guide's know so you pay as a boat ride . most flamingos are in lake bogoria which is more than 100 kms from nakuru....for more feel free

The major attractions of Amboseli National Park are:

Big Five - Especially the elephants

Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants,

Swamp below observation hill hosts many elephants, buffaloes, hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, Egyptian goose

Contemporary Maasai culture and indigenous lifestyle
