Trip recommendations

Heya,

My family and I will be staying at Busuanga island for 5 days and plan to go off the island every day. Last time I was here I did the Coron Island trip package and Malcapuya island hopping.

Coul you guys recommend 2 or 3 more destination for full day trips, or even 2-day trips. Im mostly looking for getaway island hopping and snorkeling destination. :)

Well we have booked a hotel in Coron for now, so the idea was to sleep here and do boat trips every day.

North Cay and Coral Bay Resort near Concepcion both offer good snorkelling.

@ Andrej

1) Siete pecadoes is an excellent place to snorkel

2) There are a few shallow wrecks (1-5 meters depth) in the vicinity of Coron - they also are good places to snorkel (see http://www.coronwrecks.com/sites.htm )

3) Did you see Cayangan lake? Maquinit hot springs? Twin lakes / lagoons? All interesting (My favourite is Cayangan - esp. the view from above)

4) Discovery island has a nice trail - along the edge of the island... a good day trip.

5) Both of VL's suggestions are good day trips.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations!

Do you know of any good trip provider or sailor -I know they can charge everything from 800-4000 for a single trip. Last time I managed to get some great deals with two filipinos running a small boat, but I lost their contact info.

@ Andrej

1) You may find the below recent posts to the places mentioned above useful -

a) TA review - tripadvisor.com.ph/Attraction_Review-g729733…

b) Day tours by Sangat isladn resort - www.sangat.com.ph/index.php?cmd=01.06.02.10

c) DIY Coron - …wordpress.com/2012/…

2) Do note that trips to western side of Coron / Busuang aare not so common - which is both a good (less tourists) and bad (more expensive, difficult to arrange) thing

3) Some of the resorts (who also own the island) on the western side are super expensive (some are owned by Arab interests) - hence it is best to take your own food
