Chania beaches

Hey, were planning a trip to Chania end of may start of June and just wondering is there a really nice beach in close proximity to the centre of chania town, or would it be more of a city break? Any other tips and info greatly appreciated

Chania is primarily a city visit. There is a decent beach about a 15 minute walk along the waterfront to he west. It is called Neo Chora beach. Just find the naval museum and walk behind it and you will find a tree lined street just stay on that street and you will find it. There are better beaches about 4km west but we have never bothered to visit them.

Here is an image of the street. I think on Thursday and Saturday this street is lined with the local open air market. If you find the arrow on the left hand side of this picture it will take you to images of the market.

From Chania to the west, its Nea Chora (as suggested above), then Chrisi Akti, then Agii Apostoli, then Agiia Marina and Platanias. Many options!
